Bluepeace is made up of concerned individuals who wish to ensure that natural environment is used wisely and countries to be available for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations. Bluepeace was initiated by a young group of locals on September 11, 1989. This group of concerned people aimed at diverting some of their energy in conserving and protecting our common environment which is being misused and abused, due to human activities.
Bluepeace is strictly a non-governmental organisation registered according to the rules and regulations of Maldives. It is not sponsored by any party but depends on voluntary effort, subscriptions, donations and fund raising.
Bluepeace is a young and evolving organisation. Its heart is young and true but you can also be impetuous. We welcome the support of the steadfast and the wise who can best advise and be active.
1 – to create environmental awareness among the public and offer advice on such issues.
2 – to fully co-operate with the national and international organisations in all their efforts to conserve and protect our common environment.
3 – to initiate and implement relevant activities and projects in the Maldives for the protection and preservation of delicate environment.
4 – to secure much needed resources and expertise for the implementation of relevant and viable projects for the protection and conservation of the environment.
